《道德經》(Tao Te Ching) says, “For I am abstracted from the world, the world from nature, nature from the way, and the way from what is beneath abstraction.”
 

In Chinese culture, there is a tradition of burning joss paper; as the ashes fade away, it seems as if one's thoughts are being conveyed to the other side.

This series of photographs, titled “Ashes,” is my way of commemorating the journey after my mother’s passing, slowly regaining the pieces of myself.
